Skipping the oven and range hood filter is one of the most common and costly mistakes, both take genuine effort to clean properly and are near the top of most inspection checklists. A quick surface wipe rarely passes muster on either.
Forgetting carpet steam cleaning, or attempting it with a rented consumer machine rather than commercial equipment, is another frequent issue, results from lighter machines often aren't thorough enough to meet the standard expected, especially with pet odour or ground-in stains present.
Leaving window tracks, skirting boards and light fittings until last, and running out of time to do them properly, rounds out the most common gaps. These are small individually but add up quickly during a detailed final inspection.
